Parent Opportunities

There are many opportunities for one-time, part-time, or long term involvement in areas throughout EPHS.
Please indicate your areas of interest by completing the form to the right.


Student and Staff Support
Book Scanning: help check out textbooks to students using a hand held scanner. Help is needed at the beginning and end of each semester.

Boosters: help support ALL co-curricular activities

Business & Marketing Department: Many opportunities are career specific. Please use the Notes area on the form to list career area and your choice(s) of: DECA competition judges; Internship (paid or unpaid) opportunities; Informational interview opportunities (1 hour); 

Career Speaker: speakers are needed to informally share your career with a group of 10-12 students in our Careers class. Nearly 300 speakers will be needed to cover the entire spectrum of careers! (Please note career area in the Notes area on form.)

CRC VolunteerHelp students during the school year in the Career Resource Center; also get trained on Naviance, the online college and career planning tool.

Chaperone: we need you for dances and other activities during the school year.

Clerical Support and One Time Projects: help on an as-needed basis.

EPHS Outreach / Volunteer Room: This is a resource room for community-based student volunteering. Parent volunteers assist students looking for opportunities, and also interact with community agencies regarding volunteer opportunities. Commitment is 11:00am - 1:00pm one day per week through the school year.

Media Center / Library: volunteer for a variety of tasks in the EPHS Library including help with shelving books, processing new materials, inventory, and other projects; approximately one hour once a week on a weekly or twice monthly basis.

Music: piano accompanist, file music, data entry, ushering, video recording, etc. for Band / Choir / Orchestra / Wherever needed (use Notes on form to indicate choice).

On-Site College Admission Day: help facilitate on October 26, 2016. Must be available very early that day until lunch time.

Pictures and Student Schedules: Assist with school pictures and hand out student schedules at our Back to School kickoff in August 15 & 16, 2016.

Picture make-up and retakes: Assist with school pictures in the fall.  

Prom Tickets: Parent volunteers needed in April for Prom ticket sales. Understanding or willingness to learn the Destiny Scanning system for "checking out" tickets.

Resource Center VolunteersBusiness, English, Math, Science, Social Studies departments. Once a month, to once a week, mornings or afternoons. (Subject knowledge is not necessary; choose RC based upon how busy you want to be.) Many parents are needed to keep these open for students! 

Senior Party: Help organize and staff the senior party after graduation. Junior parents also needed!

Sewing Classes: help with basic machine and hand sewing.

Spirit Store: If you would like to help out the EPHS Boosters selling clothing and spirit items please contact the Spirit Store directly.

Your EPHS PTO Team volunteers in many ways: coordinating a monthly Parent Newsletter (Eagle Nation News), Staff Appreciation meals, the Parent Directory, staffing our Resource Centers and providing support for teacher needs.  Be part of the volunteer group: contact Esti Ollerman or Laura Jester.  

Staff Appreciation Support: If you would like to receive all Signup Genius requests for donation and baked goods support during the Staff Appreciation events (3-4 times a year).

Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS): FEPS sponsors the Taste of Eden Prairie, the FEPS Golf Classic, the Legacy Awards, and the 5K Run for EP Schools. Volunteers are needed for all events.

Metro South Adult Basic EducationMetro South ABE needs adult volunteers to help tutor adult English language learners.  If interested contact them at (952) 681-6170.

While volunteering, you may observe, read or hear private information about individual students. It is essential that any information learned about individuals while volunteering remain strictly confidential. Discussing school events, lessons or other general information is fine, but it is important that you respect the privacy of students and staff at all times.
