Math Resource Center
MRC Volunteer Duties:
  • Adult presence for students that are in MRC.
  • Getting teachers from the office for students.
  • Checking out/in math textbooks and calculators to students.
  • Small task requests by the math teachers.
  • Answering phone and taking messages for teachers not at their desk.
Knowledge of math in NOT necessary! Students will not be asking our help with math.

Volunteers may park in the small guest lot near the East Entrance (Enter Door #13).

The Math Resource Center is one of the busier resource centers, you will get a lot of interaction with students; although you may want to bring in something to read or do during quieter periods.

The MRC morning shift is 7:45am - 11:15am, the afternoon shift is 11:10am - 2:45pm.

Sign up for your shifts directly: via SignUpGenius
If you are a new volunteer, feel free to sign up for shifts (we kindly request that you volunteer at least once a month), then email the MRC Volunteer Scheduler so they can come in and train you. Thank you!

Unable to volunteer your time, but would still like to help?

You can donate items that the MRC is always in need of:
  • TI-84 Graphing Calculators
  • Boxes of facial tissue

This is what the MRC looks like on a typical day; student's working with a math instructor, students doing homework or studying; other students will come in to check out or return math textbooks or calculators.
